The Last Small Talk: In this deeply moving archival segment, close friend Elliot Mintz shares a rare and intimate story with Billy Corgan about what may have been the final meeting between John Lennon and Paul McCartney during Christmas 1978 at the Dakota. Sitting on the couch, Mintz witnesses the two icons exchanging simple small talk by the window with nothing of substance being discussed. When Paul asks John if he is making any music these days, John firmly replies that his time is spent entirely with his baby, Sean, and that he isn't making music at all. Paul contrasts this by stating, "I'm always making music, I make music every day of my life." Mintz reflects on the heartbreaking mystery of what could have happened if John had just bitten the bait, brought out a couple of guitars from the other room, and changed the face of contemporary music one last time.
