The Audition Song: On December 11th, 1992, inside the historic Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City, Sir Paul McCartney filmed an intimate episode of MTV Up Close. McCartney takes the audience back to 1957, recalling the day he met a teenage John Lennon at a Woolton church garden party. Paul fondly explains how his backstage performance of "Twenty Flight Rock"—played on a borrowed guitar flipped upside down—impressed the group, leading to a surprise invitation to join what would become The Beatles, simply because he was the only one who knew all the lyrics.
