Paul McCartney created “Hello, Goodbye” after Beatles aide Alistair Taylor asked him how he wrote songs. Paul turned his answer into a game of opposites. And the finished song became a number-one hit, even though John Lennon wanted “I Am the Walrus” on the A-side.
