Two weeks before Woodstock, more than 100,000 people packed a New Jersey racetrack for the Atlantic City Pop Festival.

The three-day lineup included Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Joni Mitchell, Little Richard and dozens more. A full weekend pass cost only $15, and a rotating stage kept the performers moving with remarkably short breaks.

Yet very little film or audio survived, and the festival was almost immediately overshadowed by what happened two weeks later at Woodstock.

Which performer would you have wanted to see most?
