The Beatles’ “Get Back” began while John Lennon was late to the January 1969 rehearsals and Paul McCartney was experimenting with a rhythm on his bass. The song later gained Billy Preston’s electric piano, and both sides of its single were credited to The Beatles with Billy Preston. The hit was a studio edit, not the famous rooftop recording.
