In 1968, Paul McCartney agreed to produce a single for the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band after Vivian Stanshall complained about their usual producer, Gerry Bron. The session included a garden hose turned into an instrument, an unusually relaxed recording schedule, and a fake producer's name designed partly to annoy their manager.

The result became the Bonzos' only British chart hit, reaching number five.
