John Lennon and Paul McCartney added backing vocals to the Rolling Stones’ 1967 single “We Love You.” Mick Jagger and Keith Richards had recently joined the all-star chorus during the Beatles’ performance of “All You Need Is Love,” making this a friendly exchange between the two supposedly rival bands.

Years later, John accused the Stones of copying the Beatles, even though the Stones began recording “We Love You” one day before the Beatles began recording “All You Need Is Love,” and John had helped complete their record.
