Before “I’ve Just Seen a Face” had lyrics, Paul McCartney called its melody “Auntie Gin’s Theme.” The Beatles finished it on the same day as “I’m Down” and “Yesterday,” and Capitol later used it to open the American version of Rubber Soul.
